Meet Josephine — aka Josie, the Spunky Monkey!
I know you’ve all been waiting to hear all about me, so here I am in all my spunky glory! My name is **Josephine**, although you can call me **Josie** if you like. I answer to both… especially if there are treats involved!
My name means **“God will increase”** or **“He will add.”** Well, so far whoever God is hasn’t added much length to my legs! My sister Penelope likes to tease me and says I have stumpy dumpy legs. I tease her right back by telling her she wears WAY too much eyeliner for a girl her age and has funny ears. So I think we’re even.
I was born around 10 July 2026 There were six of us, but sadly only four of us made it. When we arrived at Paws Restart, we were all pretty sick and had a rough start, but with lots of love, care and some very dedicated humans, we are now thriving.
And me? Well, I’m definitely the spunky one!
I’ve been told I sometimes think I’m much bigger than I actually am. Give me a tree branch and I’ll drag it around the paddock like it weighs nothing. Give me a broom and apparently I’m ready to help with the sweeping. I say you’ve gotta aim high, right?!
I like to keep on the move and there is always something to investigate, something to carry or someone to annoy. But I absolutely do love a good cuddle too. Just don’t expect me to stay there for too long — there are important puppy things to be done!
As far as my breed goes, we’re sticking with Rescue Special — a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Whatever I am, I’m pretty darn cute!
I’ve also started this thing called crate training, and honestly, it’s been really good for me. Apparently puppies need sleep… who knew?! I’m learning that humans really like it when we toilet outside, and when we do, they give us treats. These humans are actually pretty easy to train.
I’m going to need an experienced home, and I’d really love another dog to help teach me how to, well… dog! Humans are very helpful, but dog language is so much easier to understand.
My recall is going really well, although I haven’t started any leash work just yet. I’m also learning some basic directions from my humans, who get ridiculously excited when I do the easiest little thing and immediately give me more treats. They’re so silly.
I’m looking for a family who will continue my training, give me plenty of mental and physical enrichment, and appreciate all the spunky little personality I have to offer.
My adoption fee includes:
• All 3 vaccinations
• Desexing when I’m old enough
• Up-to-date flea and worm treatment
• One training consultation
• Collar
• Lead
• My favourite blankie
• A toy
• One week’s supply of my food
I’m currently being fostered in Kumeu, Auckland, and I’d absolutely love to meet you!
Just remember… bring the treats. And if you laugh at my legs, I’ll show you where the gate is.
Love,
Josephine aka Josie
